The prime minister answered the questions of the opposition, with the speaker intervening promptly, from time to time.
Students from five schools of Varanasi region, viz: KV Azamgarh, KV Basti, KV DLW Varanasi, KV Bamrauli and KV Manauri from Allahabad, participated in the event. Each team comprised over 50 members. KV Bamrauli was declared the winner and will represent KVS Varanasi region in zonal youth parliament competition.
The first runners-up were KV Manauri while KV DLW Varanasi lifted the second runner-up trophy.
The opposition and ruling government, in unison, deliberated on issues pertaining to national security, education, bullet train, digital India, economy and health. The young parliamentarian moved no-confidence motion and various bills on Right to Education (RTE). Also, non-communicable disease bill 2016 and house bank mergence bill 2016 were discussed at length and passed. Former MLA and minister of higher education, Uttar Pradesh, Dr Narendra Kumar Singh Gaur, was the chief guest on the occasion.
